Good news, and…well, less than good news on the way only Nature can excuse. Tiny lizards are there and growing. We have a few in the front of the house, now, too. Grown to about the size of your little finger, from tip to big knuckle.

The not-so-good news: Skinks, apparently, like to eat baby lizards. Saw one chasing one of the tiny-tiny guys; went on the Web and discovered that, yes, sadly, they do eat other lizards. I haven’t spotted the number of little guys I had been seeing…but whether that’s for the cool, wet weather we’ve been having or the appetite of skinks, I don’t know. The prospect of lizard-on-lizard violence is just something I don’t want to face. I’ll live in ignorance and hope, instead.
