We have one, maybe two, eaglets in the nest. And a virtual population explosion around the White River. A great gift of nature.

Yet, gifts of nature have their inevitable pitfalls. Sometimes literally. This little guy was found on the ground under his nest, with a fractured. In this photo, the vet is feeding him trout fry to keep him strong.

Last report, his wing was doing well. He may or may not make it back into the wild, but at least he’s still among us. The closest we may ever get to an eagle this small.
